Dutch Scientists Suggest Government to Start the Vacuum Tube High-speed Railway Project: Build 3-Kilometer Test Tube First

Published:2017-10-26

Scientific research institutions in Holland recently submitted an evaluation report to the Dutch government, suggesting that an innovation plan for vacuum tube HSR be started. Fund shall be raised for the construction of a 3-kilometer test tube.

By magnetic levitation technique, vacuum tube HSR enables the train to float in the vacuum tube and travel at high speed with low power supply. Ideally the speed of the train could reach a staggering 1000km/h.

As estimated in the report, it takes 119 million EURO to construct the 3-kilometer test tube. Yet the price of tube construction for the 57-kilometer commercial operation may be 20 times higher.
