‘WeChat Payment’ Available for Ticket Purchase


  On November 23rd 2017, ‘WeChat Payment’ became available on trial on, the website of China Railway Customer Service Center. Besides online meal ordering, free charge for ticketing in another city, ‘connecting ticket option’ and ‘seat selection’ \ introduced earlier, ‘WeChat Payment’ is another new service launched by the railway department recently to bring convenience to passengers.

  According to a person-in-charge from CHINA RAILWAY, passengers can select ‘WeChat Payment Option’ when buying train tickets via 12306 website or smart phone app. Furthermore, WeChat Payment through QR code scanning will gradually become available at ticket windows and self-service ticketing machines in major cities in China.
